Ravenscroft continues support for local community projects

The first production by Parodos Theatre Company has secured sponsorship from one of the Isle of Man’s newest financial services.

Ravenscroft, which expanded into the island in 2020, is the principal sponsor of Much Ado About Nothing, which will be staged at the King’s Court Theatre between 7 and 9 April 2022.

The production, which will be directed by David Dawson and features a number of well-known local talent including Peter Wicks as Benedick, Lisa Smith (nee Creighton) as Beatrice and Lorcan O’Mahony as Claudio, is selling well.

‘It is fantastic to have Ravenscroft on board to support our production of Much Ado About Nothing. There is a wealth of talent in the acting community on the Island and a clear desire among audiences to enjoy plays, specifically Shakespeare which has been absent from the Island for some time. Whilst demand exists, the costs associated with staging such performances mean it is only possible with the generous support of the local community,’ said Charlie Williams of Parodos Theatre Company.

‘Ravenscroft’s support ensures that we can produce high calibre performances for Manx audiences, supporting local actors, technicians and suppliers. They are a brilliant team to work with.’

Ravenscroft, which also has offices in Guernsey, Jersey and the UK, has £8.2 billion of assets under management and as a group offers discretionary investment management, advisory, execution only, cash management and corporate finance. They have already committed to a number of sponsorships in the Isle of Man including cricket, rugby and Manx Breast Cancer Support Group.

‘Ravenscroft is excited to be working with Charlie, Alex and the whole cast and crew at Parodos Theatre Company. Ravenscroft has always been active in supporting local community initiatives and events across the jurisdictions we work in. The effect of the pandemic on the arts in particular was severe and so we are delighted that we can provide this support and are looking forward to the production,’ said Will Corrin, director of Ravenscroft in the Isle of Man.

Much Ado About Nothing is being staged at the King’s Court Theatre, Castletown between 7-9 April 2022. Tickets are available at ticketsource.co.uk/kingwilliamscollege
